So excited was I to watch this latest Rajnikanth flick that we booked the tickets earlier. I put on my newly bought dress, prepared to meet a wide Tamil audience and clap away to glory.
But the cineworld at Stockport Screen no. 4 was just 1/3rd full. I thought I didn't have company to whistle. But thank God....the small bunch who were there hooted and whistled when "Superstar Rajni" was written on the screen.
The warming up was done. I kept waiting for the next opportunity to shout.... a Rajnikanth entry...a punch dialogue.... a slow motion walk... dust flying all around when Rajni stamps on the ground. Nothing happened. The wait just extended for a good 176 mins.
The film just happened during this wait....rahman songs picturised in a shankar way.....stunts...fights.... this and that. But that moment just didn't arrive.
"Kaadhal anukkal" seemed to be the most boring love song ever. I agree the song went with Mr.Vaseegaran's character. But why do you look for logic in unnecessary places?
As usual, the tamil inclination for false female morality bugged me. The poor (financially) girl was taking bath in a bath-tub. The building was on fire...yet she didn't have the common sense to wear something over her and try to escape. And when poor Chitti (not financially) managed to rescue her, all she could think of was that she was naked. Chitti was right in saying "She's alive". I don't think I would mind coming out naked if my life was at stake.
A 200 crore magnum opus....Endhiran.
The positive reviews say it's a Shankar film and he used the actor in Rajnikanth. But then why market it as a Rajnikanth film? True there were zillion Rajnikanths all around.....still we missed him.

me and my kids
i was just wondering what will happen if i had kids. i’ll just go mad thinking abt changing their nappies only, just like i get worried about mine. i might go up to them every hour and see if it’s wet. and then plan in my mind if i change it after cooking lunch or after fud. man.....i can’t do this.
i think i’ll become an expert by the time i have my fifth kid. or maybe my first kid will take care of my fifth kid, and she’ll be much better than me at that. and then i’ll feel angry and depressed because i had thought i’ll change his nappy after i finish cooking lunch, but then i got caught up watching friends on tv and then i didnt finish cooking and by the time i was done and ready to change the nappy, my elder daughter had already done that but i was supposed to do that. Phew!
I get angry and go and watch friends again. and go to sleep. i get up at 6. it’s getting dark. u r not supposed to sleep at this time of the day. i get angry again!
my kids have already had tea, and ther’s nothing left for me in the flask.
this time i’m depressed. i want to go home!

Legitimacy my foot.
07 November 2009
Louis XV of France was a womaniser. He had one lawful wife, 11 lawful children and 90 illegitimate children. How can a child be illegitimate? If he is born into the world, then it was God's will and it is totally legitimate.
Legitimacy - a concept found by men to fortify their authority. Cowards...when they weren't given the power to bear children, they volunteer to take the power on to them of producing them. Conveniently, they take/not take the responsibility. He is my kid. Is this kid really mine? How do I know this kid is mine?
An illegitimate child - a child born out of wedlock. who is not considered lawful. one who doesn't know who his father is? Isn't it more than enough to know who his mother is? Wasn't she equally responsible?

Two little feet. One long journey.
The promos of Bumm Bumm Bole scare me. I'm afraid this film will taint the beautiful picture of "Children of Heaven" I have in my mind.
Why do they do it to us?

Life...me...now
Frustration is short-lived, so is excitement.
Farmville keeps me alive. So much so that it has started looking like work to me. Not harvesting a crop is a crime.
Well, if I was actually farming, I would have at least got some exercise. But then all these winds and rains would have worried me. And the news that they are opening the shutters of Malampuzha dam would have excited me. We are visiting the dam anyways. It will be fun to see the waves lashing at the dam walls and spilling over. I guess the 2012 flood is on its way.
But for the past few days, I have got this strong feeling that we won't drown to the end of the world. We'll rot. The world will rot to its own death. Everything seems to rot faster these days. Food, people, their bodies, their minds. The only thing that doesn't rot is waste. Plastic just refuses to rot.

back in line
Visiting my own blog after such a long time. Was happy for the past 4 months that I had work to do, which suddenly stopped and now looking forward for it to start again. But still the lazy and procrastinating monster inside me doesnt let me do anything. Get up at 9 am, eat, facebook, eat, sleep, eat, facebook and again sleep. Well, if this is the kind of life those hard working people want at some point of time, it isn't really exciting.
I do dream of writing, shooting and decide I should get started immediately. But the determination starts brewing when I'm on the pot and it doesn't live past my toilet door. Sad.
Walk. Yoga. Dance. Music. Bliss.
When?
